Our cottages are situated one mile inside the Galloway Forest Park where life goes on at a steady pace. The birds that visit the gardens are too numerous to mention but do include many members of the tit family, lots of chaffinches, woodpeckers, pheasants and buzzards overhead. Red kites are just a short drive away. The red squirrels that live in the gardens are extremely tame and have been known to venture into a cottage through the patio doors. We will provide you with a bucket of peanuts and a bucket of seed to feed the squirrels and birds. Many people who visit our cottages spend hours filming the free wildlife show that is constantly going on in the gardens. The cottages are two bedroom with bathrooms and en-suites. One cottage has a 4 poster. They are extremely spacious, clean and comfortable and are fitted out with all the equipment that you will require including dishwashers. They have oil central heating which you can set for your own comfort. A few minutes walk and you are at the visitors centre where many of the forest walks start. The walks are colour coded and vary in distance to suit everybodys requirements. There are also tracks through the forest especially for mountain biking called Seven Stanes and it is regarded as one of the best in Great Britain. Apart from the forest there are the mountains and the Galloway Hills to climb and miles of coastline with beaches and harbour villages with some wonderful tearooms.
