An excellent area for rambling,many local walks may be enjoyed.
The 50-mile 'Derwent Heritage Way' footpath is at the foot of the hill.
The Derwent valley is a World Heritage Site.
It is only a few miles by car from Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Kedleston Hall.
The ancient, Roman, lead mining town of Wirksworth and the mining museum in Cromford are within easy reach.
Visit Derbyshire's unique Well-Dressing ceremonies.
The National Tramway Museum (Crich) is just one mile away.
Visit the Ecclesbourne Valley Steam Railway, the Peak Rail, and the Steeple Grange Light Railway
Children will enjoy 'Gulliver's Kingdom' the theme park in nearby Matlock Bath.
Alton Towers is approximately 45mins drive.
For the energetic, rock climbing, caving, hang-gliding and ballooning may be pursued.
