Nestling in the foothills of the Black Mountains just off the A465, five miles from Abergavenny, you will find the Allt Yr Ynys Country House Hotel...a beautifully preserved 16th century manor house on the fringes of the Brecon Beacons National Park, with views over the surrounding hills.
The hotel is enclosed in 16 acres of parkland, gardens, and woodland and a beautiful lavender-filled Elizabethan walled garden: the perfect setting for al fresco dining, morning coffees, afternoon teas or simply a lazy pint.
Following a flood last year, the hotel has been extensively refurbished combining fresh, contemporary design with many original features to create a more modern and informal feel to the hotel. Accommodation includes a 16th century panelled four poster suite and 20 further en-suite rooms.
Facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, clay shooting and fishing and the hotel is ideally located for golf, walks, cycling, horse riding and access to some stunning scenery.
A range of short breaks are available throughout the year, and conferences and weddings are a speciality with the main function room seating up to 100 delegates theatre style. Greater numbers can be accommodated in marquees within gardens providing a superb background for perfect wedding photographs. Civil ceremonies can also be held in several rooms, the most popular being the Jacobean panelled drawing room.
