Local Attractions
We own the local village pub and it's only a 4 minute walk from the House. There's a warm and friendly atmosphere and we'd be happy to arrange an evening meal for guests. There's a range of steaks, homemade lasagne and chilli con carne as well as a delicious selection of starters and desserts.
Warkworth has been unspoilt by modern development and still contains the medieval castle and quiet streets. You can enjoy a drink and a meal at a café or pub or visit the craft shops. A 20 minute walk from the village centre, the award winning beach is never overcrowded and walkers can discover what the area has to offer with a footpath by the river or the beach to the old harbour.
Cyclists can enjoy a day cycling the 18 mile route with no major climbs heading west through Guyzance, Acklington and Broomhill, joining the coast and returning through Amble. There is also a shorter 11 mile route if preferred.
Golfers can play on the 9-hole course with links fairways on two levels to provide a little challenge and there are picturesque views of Croquet Island and the coastline. Or those looking for a contrast from the village can travel just a mile to Amble which is an industrial town with working harbour.

Roxbro House is a Grade11 listed building with careful thought put into the decoration and design. Guests' requirements are a top priority so we have decorated rooms to the highest standard and included little luxuries such as the crisp cotton bedding, goose feather duvets and pillows, Gilchrist and Soames toiletries, bathrobes and soft Egyptian towels.
The spacious twin room is decorated in a French country style with comfortable sofa and views overlooking the castle. The room has been furnished with hand painted furniture and wrought iron headboards. There's an en-suite shower room with W.C. and hand basin.
The second room contains a king sized bed and has a sofa which folds out as an extra double bed. Overlooking the castle, this room has been decorated in a luxurious French grandeur style with carved wooden bed and furniture. This room has an en-suite with steel bath and shower, W.C. and hand basin.
The third room is side facing with a relaxing and airy feel. There is a large wooden sleigh bed with matching dressing table and luxurious wing chair. The en-suite has a powerfully energising shower, hand basin and W.C.
Every room contains widescreen satellite television, DVD player and CD alarm clock and fresh flowers and chocolates placed in rooms for your arrival. There are hairdryers and tea and coffee making facilities for your convenience. Laundry services are available and ironing facilities.
The Guest Lounge offers a place to relax with no television but enjoy a book or magazine, listen to music or play a board game. Tastefully decorated you will see many of Claire's souvenirs from her travels and mini bar which guests are welcome to use. In winter the real log fire gives the room warmth and will keep you cosy.
The Garden Room is a new addition and a great place to enjoy breakfast. From the buffet you can enjoy the fresh fruit, fruit juices, yoghurts and cereals before the cooked breakfast. Newspapers can be ordered the previous evening to be read at breakfast.
