FROM THE NORTH:
Leave M6 at junction 40, take second exit (A66) East (Scotch Corner), travel for one mile along dual carriageway. At next roundabout take fourth exit (A6) South (Shap). Travel for 1/2 mile through traffic lights and over bridge and take the next right turn at the Bee Hive pub, signposted to Pooley Bridge. Travel for one mile and take next left hand fork towards Askham. Stay on this road and drive through Askham and Helton (Do not turn right into village of Helton go straight on). Travel on for a further mile and after going down a hill and over a small bridge Beckfoot will be on your right.
Distance from Junction 40 to Beckfoot 6.5 miles
FROM THE SOUTH:
Leave M6 at junction 39 and join the A6 North bound to Shap. Go through Shap and just as you get to the garage on the right (Before the railway bridge) take a left turn signposted to Bampton and Haweswater. Stay on this road and go through Bampton Grange, Bampton and Butterwick.
Beckfoot is a further 1/2 mile on the left.

Beckfoot is a beautiful Victorian country house in own 3 acre grounds with direct access onto the adjoining Lakeland fells. We have fully en-suite luxurious rooms with full amenities of free view flat screen TVs with DVD, hospitality trays, mini bar/fridges, safes, hair driers and some with ironing points.
Large family room sleeping up to 4, Four Poster room and a Ground floor annexe room sleeping up to 3 are available plus double, twin and single room. All rooms have 5' double beds with some having the option of twin or 6' double beds (zip & link). We are Pet, child, Dog and cycle friendly. We do take dogs in some of our rooms at a charge of £2.50. Except our 4 poster and our twin bedded/double room which are kept dog free.
We are ideally placed for touring the Lakes, Eden valley and the Border regions, including Carlise City. We are also a great stop off point when travelling to Scotland. The Lowther valley where we are situated is very peaceful and we have Haweswater reservoir and nature reserve near by. We are on the main coast to coast cycling and walking route, With lots of walks and cycle routes near by.
Beckfoot Country House is an ideal holiday centre where you can relax and de-stress.
On certain weekends of the year Beckfoot is home to 'Guitar Weekends' (no other guests on these weekends) the Ultimate Guitar Break for hobby player of a more mature age to leisurely learn to improve their guitar playing. Plus meet other like minded folk.
