Find things to do in this Region
|
This region provides some lovely countryside and lots of exciting attractions. The Cotswolds with its time-forgotten villages like Broadway and Bourton-on the-Water are just delightful. The region also has a multitude of other attractions. There are magnificent castles at Soudley and Warwick and the Grand Blenheim Palace, once the home of Sir Winston Churchill. The famous Ironbridge that started the industrial revolution can be seen in the beautiful Severn Gorge along with several other museums depicting this period.
The area also has plenty of excitement with thrilling rides at Drayton Manor Park and Alton Towers. If you like walking then the Malvern Hills provides some lovely scenery as does Cannock Chase.
The area is full of Heratige. Visit Stratford-upon-Avon and follow the Shakespeare's trail and perhaps see a performance of one of plays in the theatre. You can also visit the National Motor Cycle museum or see how ceramics were made at the Gladstone Pottery Museum. Artists will love the top class Nature in Art Gallery at Tewkesbury. There are gardens to explore and Cathedrals like Hereford which contains the fascinating Mappa Mundi.
Birmingham, Britain's second city can provide good restaurants, music and theatre and of course great shopping in the Bull Ring Centre. Coventry with bars and restaurants and historical buildings to view is a good place to relax and take in the surroundings.
