For city and country life the North West of England is the place to go. From the stunning views in the Lake District to a stroll along the prom in Blackpool you can't fail but find something to interest everyone. Bordering Scotland, Cumbria and the Lake District are host to charming towns ideal for relaxation. Visit Lake Windermere and take a steamboat ride or let childhood memories return visiting The World of Beatrix Potter.
Travel further south to Lancashire and Blackpool making your way through the Lancashire countryside to the larger cities ideal for shopping and that all important Blackpool rock or leaving your stomach behind on the city's roller coasters. Visit Eric Morecambe as he poses by the sea. The area has extremely friendly people and the quaint little villages in the surrounding area escape the busy city life and are ideal for a place to relax. Southport's Miniture Railway and keep small and big kids amused for hours as they watch the trains travel.
Live the high life with some of Chester's finest offerings or the historical aspect with the largest Roman Amphitheatre. Visit the Albert Docks in Liverpool and see The Beatles Story exhibition. The Trafford Centre in Manchester is the place for a mega shopping expedition with 280 stores and 38 restaurants.
