Find things to do in this Region
|
From Kent and the white cliffs of Dover to Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight this region has a lot to offer. Stately homes and Castles are dotted all the way along the coast. Leeds and Bodiam Castles still with moats intact are well worth a visit along with Queen Victoria's former home Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. If you need more culture then the Pavilion at Brighton and great cathedrals at Winchester, Sailsbury and Canterbury should be rewarding. Those interested in marine history can see the wreck of the Mary Rose, and go aboard HMS Victory.
Good sandy beaches can be found all along the coast at places like Hythe and Margate. Walkers will find plenty of space and picturesque views along the chalk cliffs and throughout the wealds and downs.
The area has endless shopping facilities including 'the lanes' in Brighton. Nightclubs and bars are scattered throughout the region and there is even a chance to do some English wine tasting in East Sussex.
The main theme in this region is family fun and entertainment which can be found in all of the resorts. There are also a number of theme and adventure parks like Thorpe, Chessington and Paulters which give their patrons thrilling memories to savour.
