The Granite City of Aberdeen is Scotland's third city and has a lively nightlife but at the same time perfect for families. Away from the city there are miles of beaches along the Aberdeenshire coast with the sea providing an important centre with oil in the North Sea.
The Elgin Museum preserves Scotland's history in a view from the area while Dufftown is the World's Malt Whisky Capital but also has an eleven mile railway line. Travel on this railway and see the Scottish scenery passing castles and lochs. Storybook Glen found on the outskirts of Aberdeen is a perfect attraction for the kids or for the culturists, His Majesty's Theatre is a must see music hall. With Cathedrals galore in Aberdeen the architecture is something that won't be missed while passing the area.
Loch Park Adventure Centre near Drummuir Castle provides all the adventure possible even going at your own pace – try out gorge walking, raft building, canoeing and kayaking under the watchful eye of qualified staff for a safe but adventurous holiday. The south west of the area meets the Cairngorms National Park and area home to a few small towns and villages rich with their own culture. Ideal for mountain climbing, the Cairngorms is a spectacular area to visit for Scotland's beautiful landscape.
