Find things to do in this Region

Mid Wales is ideal for nature lovers. With the Brecon Beacons National Parks, rolling hills and luxurious mountainous views it is an ideal place to enjoy the scenery. Aberystwyth on the West Coast is the largest town with attractions including Aberystwyth Cliff Railway and Camera Obscura – the longest cliff railway in Britain, Llangranog Ski Centre further south or numerous nature trails and reserves found throughout the area.
With windsurfing on Bala Lake and dolphins in Cardigan Bay, this region really does have it all. From a cultural perspective there are many attractions with probably more castles than anywhere else in Britain. Penhryn, and Powis are fascinating examples.
Lake Vyrnwy is one of Wales' biggest and best lakes. There are Land Rover tours available in Gwynedd which enable visitors to discover the landscape and the sea views with the help of a guide. For family activities, the Llain Activity Centre in Dyfed offers a range of activities such as Kayaking, Climbing, Abseiling, Archery, Sailing, Assault Courses, Commando Courses, Orienteering as well as others. Birdwatchers can capture glimpses of Red Kite's in the area but visit the safari park and discover a wide variety of both birds and mammals including a good population of otters.
