UK REGION GUIDE

Find things to do in this Region
With two of Wales' largest cities, South Wales attracts over 3 million visitors per year. Cardiff is great for shopping and along the coast, Tenby has a reputation for providing lively entertainment and is also the starting point for a boat trip to Caldey Island where visitors can buy perfume made by Monks. In the same area Oakwood Park has a number of spine chilling rides. There are cathedrals and gardens to be explored and for something different there are books galore in Hay-on-Wye.

South Wales has many extreme and even unique outdoor activities to take part in: Kite Buggying, Mountain Boarding, Canyoning, Coasteering and Dune Sliding are just a few examples of what is on offer. Barry Island is perfect for those looking for an action packed family holiday. Penarth near Cardiff is ideal for shopping but also has a Victorian appeal – at the same time very modern. Glamorgan is full of farming land and greenery making it a perfect relaxing area with Norman castles and medieval towns. Glamorgan's Heritage coast is found right at the bottom of Wales – the believed birth place of King Arthur but the area also has many stories of other past lives to discover unless you would rather spend time on some of South Wales' cleanest beaches.
